This is my daughter on her first day of Kindergarten, holding her handwritten name.
I plan to take a similar photo with Kaitlyn every year on the first day of school (hey Pinterest! Thanks for the inspiration!).
I told her to write her name really big. She took me seriously.
I am most proud that she is wearing Chacos. I am least proud of the job I did putting her hair into a ponytail (will it ever get easier?).
She didn't allow the photoshoot to end until I'd taken a silly picture.
We're entering a world of homework, reading groups, and eating breakfast at the big school.
I have very clear memories from Kindergarten, and I wonder what Kaitlyn will remember from this year of her life. I hope it's more the two of us gluing things in our art journals and less the frantic search for matching socks in the morning. I hope it's more of the snuggles and less of me begging Levi to put pants on.
Only time will tell.
Is it sad that the first thing I noticed about this photos (besides her adorable HUGE name) was her Chacos? Sweet girl…
